Vedic Venus in Aquarius: Your Love, Beauty and Art Go High-Tech and Hi-Definition

Vedic Venus in Aquarius: Your Love, Beauty and Art Go High-Tech and Hi-Definition

According to the Vedic and sidereal calendar based on the fixed stars, the planet of love Venus has just landed in eccentric Aquarius. Here Venus will join the invisible yet powerful south lunar node, Ketu, and an extremely energetic celestial body, Mars. Can you imagine Venus as a damsel in love donning pastel colored garments in a community meeting with a bored priest, Ketu, and a passionate warrior, Mars? If this sounds like an odd trio, you’re right. So to say hello to your jolly New Year and enjoy happy developments in your creativity and relationship alike, here for you three easy-easy ways to make the most of Venus in Aquarius. You may not be able to guess what’s in store given the unconventional and unorthodox nature of this sign—so a little guidance will go a long way. 1. Innovative wave Aquarius is the point in the sky that gives visiting planets a penchant for technological progress and social change. This astrological sign is ruled by both Saturn, the planet of longevity, and Rahu, the unconventional and a bit obsessive north lunar node. Rahu loves all things new. So as Venus leaves behind the solid and work-oriented sign of Capricorn, it will bring you interests in research, astronomy, astrology, innovation and cutting-edge technology. Yet traditional Saturn can bestow a touch of history and working-class awareness. So don’t leave your day job just yet. If you’re an artist, plan to wow the crowds with your unusual style, designs and techniques. Multi-media installations and performances will suddenly seem irresistible. If you love music, you’ll leave home, your office or...

Dance! This Week

Sunday was the 4th Moon, the day to worship Ganesha.  Ganesha’s job is to remove all obstacles, seen and unseen, and also he is the overlord of Ketu, the south node of the moon.  Ketu can give us enlightenment, so this day is a great day to connect with Ganesha.  When we make the Divine Beings our friends they are there for us.  Ganesha’s Birthday is coming up in September so we can go and read about it on Astroved. If we can’t afford to do any of the offered rituals, then we can still make our own offerings from home.  Break coconuts and roll limes for Ganesha. On Krishna’s Birthday, August 25th, if we offer 12 tulsi leaves (Holy Basil) to Krishna, he will be so happy!  We can dance to Jai Jai Radha Ramana Hari Bol.  This is a very enlivening chant that brings joy to you and to Krishna when you listen, sing and dance to it!  Remember that your Kingdom is within, so we have to learn what our soul wants to do and listen to our Higher Selves.  How do we know when our soul is talking to us?  The soul’s words will bubble up within us and reveal to us what we need to look at in our lives. And when we combine what the soul wants, with the available energies of the day, we will be propelled forward on our spiritual path and to our manifestations. Here are some important upcoming dates/events: Thursday August 25th is Krishna’s Birthday.  Dr. Pillai says that Krishna is a 200% god and we can pray to...

Happy Independence Day!

This week started out with a New Moon – the power time to propitiate the ancestors – so let’s not forget do to our “Tarpanam” rituals. Learn how. We are connected to our ancestors through our DNA and our “soul DNA” and they affect our progress on this earth plane.  She mentioned a one-year program that AstroVed offers that could be very helpful not only to ourselves to our descendants (children, nieces, nephews).  It is offered here. The New Moon is also the beginning of the waxing phases of the moon and so this is a time to imagine what we want to manifest in our lives.  Sucharita urges us strongly to create a “Vision Board” where we can be reminded constantly of what we want in our lives.  Dr. Pillai wants us all to have the abundance that is our birthright.  If we have abundance, we will have more time to focus on our spiritual pursuits. Sucharita announced that Dr. Pillai is starting another series of short videos on removing karma.  Participate LIVE daily at 2:00 p.m. EDT or watch the videos later on Pillai Center’s Facebook Page. Sun enters Gemini

The Sun enters Gemini on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, and will continue there through July 16th, the Vedic Summer Solstice.   Gemini is a sign ruled by Mercury, and it is called Mithuna in Sanskrit. It is a sign that encompasses a great range of energies. It is symbolized either by twins or by an embracing couple. Gemini is the natural 3rd house of the zodiac, which is about courage and risk-taking, your siblings and peers, short journeys and errands. It shows your capacity to get along with others and physical strength. You may want to look at how you deal with risk. Are you bold or timid? Do you take measured risks or do you risk too much without a safety net or back-up plan? Dr. Pillai talks about this in his book, Life Changing Sounds: Tools from the Other Side. He said that overspending to buy a luxury car when you can’t really afford the payments is not a good risk.  However, “A good risk is a ‘calculated risk’ which optimizes the opportunity for success”. As mentioned before, Gemini is ruled by Mercury, who is a planet of communication, information technology, intellect, business, and money. Mercury is no longer retrograde; he is moving forward in Taurus now, so there should be fewer interruptions to communications and technology. Mercury will enter Gemini on June 26th, transiting here through July 11th. He will be very strong in his own sign, so this will be a good chance to develop your mercurial skills. Learning something new in technology, business know-how, astrology, public speaking, writing. Venus is going to be entering...
