Sagittarius Preview

Sun is currently in Scorpio and he will enter Sagittarius on Thursday, December 15th at 10:20 a.m. EST. He will transit through Sagittarius until January 13, 2016. A couple weeks after that, Saturn is also going to move out of Scorpio and into Sagittarius. The Sun is going to give us a preview of Saturn’s big upcoming transit. The Sun symbolizes your soul, father, activity and vitality. Sun always spends 1 month in each sign and never goes retrograde. On the other hand, Saturn moves through a zodiac very slowly, taking about 2 ½ years per sign. If you look at the zodiac Saturn is transiting at any given time, it will be one of your 12 houses in your personal chart. It may be the 2nd house of finances and speech, the 10th house of profession, or etc. Whichever house it is for you, Saturn will bring up lessons and learning experiences in that area of life. This is why we pay a lot of attention to Saturn’s transits. Saturn is a planet of limitations, tough karmas, discipline, and compassion. Sometimes he puts us through difficulties in order to make us more compassionate and humble. He is like a tough drill sergeant that you hate while you are in boot camp, but once you graduate you are immensely grateful for how he led you to grow and change. From Scorpio… For the past month Sun has been lighting up Scorpio. Scorpio is the most occult of the signs, representing the hidden side of life and occult powers. It is a house of transformation, change, obstacles, and mysteries. It...

The Spiritual Solution to Ending Depression and Suicide

The Spiritual Solution to Ending Depression and Suicide

In the light of recent events, Dr. Pillai invites us to explore the spiritual dimensions of depression and suicide.   “I want to invite you for a special Google Hangout on Sunday, Aug 17th on ending suicide. What triggered me to do this is apparently the suicide of Robin Williams a couple of days ago. What I plan to do is not only look at a solution for suicide, but also the process for suicide. I want to confine my observations only to the spiritual aspect of it: what are the spiritual causes for suicide, and what are the spiritual solutions for the suicide? It is appropriate to do that because life and death are intensely spiritual. The spirit comes into being when somebody is born, and the spirit leaves when somebody dies. Life and death have to be traced to a spiritual cause. Now, why people want to commit suicide, spiritually speaking, it is because the soul—in a previous lifetime—had contemplated suicide, or perhaps even committed suicide. The memory comes in and you begin to reenact that. This is what motivates people to commit suicide. There is a lot of literature to prove this from the Indian context. The scriptures talk about why people commit suicide: because they have done that in a previous lifetime. If you look at the suicide bombers in the Middle East and also in Japan, this theory holds that these souls who die prematurely or unnaturally, they reincarnate and do that again. That is primarily the spiritual cause for suicide. Now, the solution also has to be spiritual, and what can you do?...
Different Religions, Same Source

Different Religions, Same Source

Dr. Pillai’s vision for the Golden Age is all-inclusive.  In a world where Religion has become a bad word, what can be done to correct the mistakes that contribute to society’s mistrust? In this call-to-action for the global spiritual community, Dr. Pillai boldly describes what’s wrong with Religion, and what can be done to re-introduce God to the mainstream … “What is a religion and what is a cult? A religion is what I practice and a cult is what you practice. That is the difference and people have to understand this in that sense. It’s not a matter of losing your own following or anything. It is a matter of bringing together all of the resources we have in order to create The Golden Age. That is the most important thing. Word Religions’ Bad Rap Already religion has a bad name because it divides rather than unites people. That is true. Where ever you go, the problems are created by religion. It’s not by religion, it is by institutions created by religion, and by people who have created religion. The followers are the problem, not as much the teachers, but in some cases the teachers are the problems too. But then the religions in general if you look at it objectively, have created a lot of divisions among people. People die for the sake of religion. Look at what’s happening between the Hindus, the Muslims, the Jews, the Christians, and the Arabs, all of the problems are due to religion. So what we have to do in the Golden Age is we have to come together and our...
Can Different Spiritual Traditions Come Together?

Can Different Spiritual Traditions Come Together?

Dr. Pillai is challenging the global spiritual community to come together and be a force to establish the Golden Age. In the first Global Forum for the Golden Age, Dr. Pillai was asked the important question: How can different Masters, representing unique traditions come together? The answer and inspiration lies in the example of a great Siddha who lived thousands of years ago … Question: The concept for a Global Forum for The Golden Age is fantastic, but there is a problem. How do you get all of these different Masters, teaching different philosophies and techniques, how can they come together to share a common platform? There may be conflicts and ego issues. How do you address that? Dr. Pillai’s Answer:  “There are ego issues, and how can you address that? If you are egocentric, then it’s not going to work. I just remembered, Yoga Vasishta. It is again Rama who is being trained by Vasishta. Vasishta takes Rama to Kakabashunda. Kakabashunda is the guy who is the Master of pranayama. If you want to know about pranayama, of different kinds and how pranayama can give you enlightenment and immortality, you have to go to Kakabashunda. So he takes him to Kakabashunda, and Kakabashunda is immortal. But Vasishta dies and is reborn. He goes to Kakabashunda, and Kakabashunda goes and washes the feet of Vasishta. Vasishta says, “Master why are you doing that. You are bigger than him?” Kakabashunda: “No, no it’s not that … Vasishta is a great Guru. He died many times and this is the eighth time he has reincarnated, but I never died. That doesn’t...
