Juhtas Monastery – (on the sacred mountain of Juhtas). Just five kilometers south of Knossos is a large limestone rock 811 meters high, which to the eyes of the ancient Cretans looked like the figure of Zeus lying on the ground. Juhtas, as it is called today, was the sacred mountain of the Minoans where they founded four temples.
