Today on the LIVE Powertime Practice Call we honored Hanuman, the monkey-faced god who will help us to get us our desires, especially our spiritual desires. Hanuman is a force to be reckoned with! He is known as a “superman” who can move mountains! Today, the New Moon is a time of new beginnings, and a special time for Hanuman to help us to have just that! Also, during this new moon, and every new moon, it is the good time to honor the ancestors – all our ancestors! Sucharita demonstrated how to do a tarpanam ritual feed and appease the ancestors. Saturday, December 29 is the 8th Waning Moon – a time when you can learn Divine Time Management and take a timeline jump to a better reality. We are here to learn how to harness the energies of time. Everything in our lives is being impacted by the energy of time. Shakti, power and energy are words that mean the same thing, and it would behoove us to know exactly how the energy of time is affecting all the areas in our lives-relationships, finance and health. This morning Sucharita led us through a ritual or pooja honoring Lord Siva. Lord Siva has the ability to destroy negativity! In his Nataraj or Dancing Siva statue, his foot is on a demon. The demon is our ego! We offered Siva some things the represents earth, water, fire, and air. She showed us Bilva leaves, which is a favorite offering of Siva. She says the energy of the bilva is eternal and that Dr. Pillai says that this is the only offering that can be re-offered to the gods. In our meditation, we chanted the sounds of the elements, which are inside of us. They are NA MA SI VA YA. To clear the space, she burned and offered incense, which represents AIR, while chanting to Ganesha, the elephant-headed god who removes all obstacles. Sucharita greeted us on the December 15, 2019 Powertime Practice call. Sun has just transited into the 9th house, Sagittarius, which is all about looking up to a higher spiritual reality. Honor your father and your spiritual teacher. Partake in holiday traditions and high spiritual teachings. Take some action for compassion by donating to charity or otherwise helping those in need. Dr. Pillai teaches us that we carry the karma from all our ancestors who have come before us and he gives us the tools and techniques to remove this karma. It is so important to honor our ancestors and an easy way to do this is to perform a ritual called “tarpanam”. Tarpanam consists of putting rice flour, black sesame, and a coin in the right hand while dribbling water over this concoction, asking the ancestors to accept this offering.
