  5. Vedic New Year: Renew...

Re-create your life during the Vedic New Year, when the Sun moves into Aries. Awaken the Sun’s power within you for spiritual and material growth.

“The moment the Sun moves into Aries, it is the time for renewal and self-confidence, a time for joy. For thirty days, the Sun in Aries is the time for you to make important changes in your life.”

“The Sun is not simply just a celestial object, a star, but he is very much our breath, very much our consciousness, very much our life. There is extensive Yogic literature on the Sun, on how the Sun impacts us and governs our life.”

~ Dr. Pillai

The Vedic New Year, also known as the Tamil New Year, begins Monday, April 13, 2020.

In Vedic Astrology, this is when the Sun moves into Aries. The first few days of the Vedic New Year are especially valuable for starting new projects, spiritual cleansing, and karma removal. It is a time to create a new life, and entering the NOW, without clinging to misfortunes from the past.

Not only are the first few days auspicious, but the entire month the Sun is in Aries as well. Dr. Pillai says, “I want the world to be reborn on this day when the Sun moves into Aries. Everything is dependent on how our brain works, and there is an opportunity for the entire month of Aries.”

Chant the Gayatri Mantra

Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha

(ohm boor boo-VAH SWAH-hah)

Tat Savitur Varenyam

(tat sah-vee-TOOR vah-REN-yahm)

Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi

(bar-GO day-VAHS-yah DEE-mah-hee)

Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat

(dee-YOH yoh-NAH prah-CHO-dah-yaht)

Dr. Pillai teaches: “When we talk about the Sun, it is not simply a star in the sky, but it is also God. That is why it is very important for the Yogis to chant Gayatri, which is the chant for the Sun God.

You meditate on the Sun, and then he will come and change your consciousness. All that you have to do is meditate on him, and then the rest will be done by him. That is the meaning of this chant.”

He also says, “What can the Sun do? It can give you the highest intelligence possible.”
