In today\u2019s call discussion and meditation, we celebrated Lord Krishna<\/strong>‘s birthday, which will take place on Sunday, September 2nd.\u00a0 Who is Krishna?\u00a0 He is worshiped as the eighth avatar<\/a> of the god Vishnu<\/a>. A god of compassion, tenderness, and love, Krishna manifested in human form to restore cosmic order in the Universe, eradicate evil forces, and reinstate the principle of cosmic order, otherwise known as dharma<\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0Krishna came to the earth plane when there was no dharma and he is often depicted with his consort, Radha.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

What is dharma<\/strong>?\u00a0 Dharma signifies behaviors that are considered to be in accord with the order that makes life and universe possible, and includes duties, rights, laws, conduct, virtues and “right way of living”.\u00a0 Dr. Pillai is offering a new class in Pillai Center Academy about Krishna which is all about finding your dharma, <\/strong>called Krishna: Leader of Love & Dharma<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the meditation this morning we invoked Krishna by chanting \u201cHari Bol, Radhe Bol<\/em>\u201d in the different parts of our head, eyes and brain.<\/p>\n

After our meditation, Sucharita led us in an abhishekam or hydration of Krishna statues.\u00a0 She says that every Wednesday, 11th<\/sup> moon and Rohini star days are good times to perform this rite.\u00a0 She showed us how to execute this ritual with water, milk, juice and fruit.<\/p>\n

Krishna is both a material God as well as a spiritual God. Krishna can give you whatever you want depending on how you perceive him. If you perceive him as one who is against materialism and going to give you enlightenment, then he will do that. And if you perceive him as a \u2018Party God,\u2019 then he will give you that as well.\u201d <\/em>\u2013 Dr. Pillai<\/p>\n
