Sucharita welcomed us all to the Powertime Practice<\/strong> call today on Saturday Sept 8, 2018!\u00a0 Another month has flown by and it’s another good time to renew our efforts on our spiritual path.\u00a0 We re here on these calls to discover the energies of Time<\/strong> and to learn from the teachings of Dr. Pillai on how to harness time.\u00a0 This week’s call is all about Lord Ganesha<\/strong>, an elephant-headed god who rides on a mouse and is the Remover of all Obstacles<\/strong>, seen and unseen.\u00a0 His birthday is next week which will be a 4th<\/sup> moon<\/strong>, and today is the 14th<\/sup> waning moon<\/strong>, two good times to propitiate Ganesha.\u00a0 Ganesha will help to wake up the Shakti<\/strong> inside us!\u00a0 Shakti is a divine cosmic energy that represents feminine energy and the dynamic forces that move through the universe.<\/p>\n

Today is Saturday, the day of Lord Saturn<\/strong>, the god of patience and perseverance. Saturn will make you to slow down and he deals out karma.\u00a0 We need to calm our minds, through meditation and chanting mantras and Saturn can help us do that.<\/p>\n

In our meditation today, we activate our chakras<\/strong> or \u201cpycho-spiritual\u201d energy centers by bringing up the energy through our sushumna, <\/strong>the \u00a0central channel which extends from our tailbone area or root chakra (muladhara) all the way up to our crown chakra at the top of our head.<\/p>\n

This afternoon through midday tomorrow is the New Moon<\/strong> and this is a good time to connect with our ancestors.\u00a0 Some of the ancestors are stuck and need to be helped on their way to higher realms.\u00a0 Tarpanam<\/strong> is a ritual that offers the food and energy they need to evolve on their own spiritual paths.\u00a0 We share physical DNA with our ancestors and also we share their spiritual DNA!. When they are in trouble, we are in trouble!\u00a0 Their troubled thoughts become our troubled thoughts.<\/p>\n

Every day there is a time that we can get rid of karma called Pradosham<\/strong>.\u00a0 It occurs about 1 \u00bd hours before sunset.\u00a0 We can do this by performing an Abhishekam<\/strong> or hydration ceremony to a Shiva Lingam<\/strong> while chanting \u201cThiru Neela Kantam<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0 This quantum sound frequency<\/a> invokes the energies of Shiva<\/strong><\/a>, in the form of a blue light. The mantra literally means \u2018Blue-throated One\u2019 referring to the legend of Shiva drinking the poison and his throat becoming blue.<\/p>\n

We are so lucky to have Dr. Pillai as our teacher and guru.\u00a0 He is a Satguru<\/strong>.\u00a0 The satguru is a title given specifically only to an enlightened rishi or saint whose life’s purpose is to guide the initiated\u00a0 spiritual aspirant, on the spiritual path, the summation of which is the realization of the Self through realization of God, who is omnipresent.\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Pillai will reveal truth to us and dispel the darkness!<\/p>\n

Demonstration:\u00a0 Sucharita showed us how to offer abishekam or hydration to Lord Ganesha and Lord Saturn.\u00a0 She had water, milk (whole), and orange juice, as well as a banana, some turmeric and a flower.<\/p>\n
