Good morning fellow spiritual travelers!\u00a0 Sucharita welcomed us, one and all, old and new to the Powertime Practice<\/strong> call today. We always need to be prepared for whatever comes down the pike in our lives.\u00a0 We are here on these calls to discover how to navigate the upcoming time energies or shaktis<\/strong> to prepare us and make our lives easier. This week we will be experiencing the Deepam Full Moon <\/strong>on Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd<\/sup>. Pay attention to how it is affecting us and everyone around us. The moon represents our mind and our desires.<\/p>\n

Dr. Pillai says that the stories of all the gods and goddesses, the archetypes in every tradition and religion make up what he calls mythotherapy<\/strong> and gives us a way to relate to the Divine Beings that are everywhere, in the macrocosm and in the microcosm.<\/p>\n

Deepam Mythotherapy<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Hindu tradition, there is a story about the destroyer god named Siva<\/strong>.\u00a0 The story goes that on this Full Moon<\/strong>, his two buddies, Brahma<\/strong>, the creator god and Vishnu<\/strong>, the sustainer god, want to figure out which of them is the best.\u00a0 Lord Siva devised a competition to decide which was best and said, \u201cBrahma, go to the highest point in creation and Siva, you go as deep and wide as you can.\u00a0 Both of you try to find the end of creation.\u201d\u00a0 Brahma found a flower in space and decided it was the end of creation.\u00a0 But the flower said, \u201cNo, I am not the end of creation!\u201d\u00a0 Brahma decided to lie and tell Siva that he found the end. Vishnu came back and told Siva he could not find any end to creation.<\/p>\n

Of course, Siva knew Brahma was lying and declared Vishnu the winner, allowing him to sustain his creation. Siva cut off one of Brahma\u2019s 5 heads and cursed him that he will not have any temples dedicated to him. The moral of the story is: There is no beginning or no end to our being or the whole of creation, we just keep going and going forever.<\/p>\n

There is a mountain in India called Arunachala<\/strong> in Tiruvannamalai<\/strong> where Deepam <\/strong><\/a>is celebrated by burning a huge oil\/ghee lamp on the\u00a0 mountain. This fire will burn karma and illuminate your true soul. This festival represents the birth of your consciousness!<\/p>\n

The Sun<\/strong> represents our soul and is now transiting into the natural 8th<\/sup> house<\/strong>, Scorpio<\/strong>, the house of the occult. This is a good time to dive deep within and discover who we really are.\u00a0 Things may pop up in our lives from the past, people may come back to you.\u00a0 This is a time of transformation and a time to look positively at everything in your lives, even if it may seem negative.\u00a0 This can be a time of death, death of old habits, or even death of loved ones.\u00a0 The 8th<\/sup> house also represents Ganesha<\/strong>, the remover of all obstacles.\u00a0 He resides at the base of the spine.\u00a0 He will open the flood gates of your soul to allow all the light in!<\/p>\n

The 13th Moon phase is called Pradosham<\/a>, a karma-removing time. 1 1\/2 hours before sunset through sunset is the most powerful time to pray to Siva to dissolve your bad karma. Hydrate a sivalinga by pouring water\/milk\/juice over it as you chant the karma busting mantra,\u00a0Thiru Neela Kantam Makaral Shivayanama<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em>Visualize\u00a0blue light in your throat. Roll and break a coconut or lime(s) to remove karma.<\/p>\n
