Karthigai runs from mid-November to mid-December.<\/p>\n<p>Shiva rules Mondays. He has a special relationship with them because of his special relationship with the Moon. It is believed that Mondays during Karthigai are highly auspicious for invoking Shiva to dissolve your karma and bless you with good health and prosperity. They are also believed to be good days to connect with Shiva&#8217;s consciousness of infinite bliss.<\/p>\n<p>These special Shiva Mondays are known as Karthigai Somavaram. Mondays are ruled by Shiva, so he has a special relationship with them. Furthermore, Karthigai is a major month for Shiva.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;color: #ff6600\"><strong>MANTRA &amp; AT-HOME PRACTICE:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Use the Thiru Neela Kantam mantra to remove karma<\/strong>. It\u2019s pronounced TEE-roo NEE-lah KAHN-tahm. Don\u2019t just chant it every once in a while. Slip it into your day during any \u201cdowntime\u201d so it creates a powerful momentum that cleanses your karma. Use the mantra any time you\u2019re not busy with something you can\u2019t do simultaneously. If you have a specific problem in mind, you can set the intent to cleanse the karmic thought patterns behind it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do the Namah Shivaya\u00a0Meditation.<\/strong>\u00a0Dr. Pillai says,\u00a0<em>\u201cYou will have a world of benefits come to you. It will burn your karma, your Maya, and your ego.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Close your eyes.
