\"\"<\/a>Good Saturday morning on this Powertime Practice<\/strong> call with Sucharita on January 26, 2019!<\/p>\n

Today is Saturday, ruled by Saturn.\u00a0 Saturn delivers intense karma.\u00a0 If we pay attention, we can get through our karma lightly.<\/p>\n

Sucharita showed us a picture of Dr. Pillai<\/strong> with his hand raised in blessing-mode.\u00a0 He is a Sat Guru<\/em> who can teach us know our true selves, or our Divine Selves.\u00a0 He can protect us if we put our faith in him.\u00a0 She also showed us a statue of Dr. Pillai.\u00a0 She explains that when we have a statue of the guru, it is like having a landing pad for his influence to arrive at.<\/p>\n

The moon<\/strong> represents our mind so depending on the moon phase, our minds will be affected.\u00a0 Tomorrow is the beginning of the 8th<\/sup> moon<\/strong>, which is the day for Kala Bhairava<\/strong>, the God of Time.\u00a0 There are 8 different forms<\/a> of his being-Asitanga Bhairava, Ruru Bhairava, Chanda Bhairava, Krotha Bhairava, Unmatha Bhairava, Kapaala Bhairava, Bheeshana Bhairava and Samhara Bhairava.<\/p>\n

The sun<\/strong> represents our soul.\u00a0 The sun is now transiting the sign of Capricorn<\/strong>, the \u201cpurpose\u201d house. This is a good time to check internally to reflect on our real purpose in life.<\/p>\n

In our meditation today we are making offerings to the 5 elements of our lives: earth (fruit), water (water), fire (light in form of ghee lamp), air (incense), and space (flowers).\u00a0 Sucharita tells us that when we are making our offerings, it is important to always add flowers or flower petals to the offerings.\u00a0 This makes our blessings to the elements and gods fly quickly, like a text message to the Divine.\u00a0 We made offerings to all 8 forms of Kala Bhairava:<\/p>\n

Dr. Pillai’s birthday<\/strong> is February 1st<\/sup>, and he will be leading a trip in India for a whole week.\u00a0 Dr. Pillai is a Sat guru, or dispeller of darkness,<\/em> and it is a great blessing to be in his presence on his birthday.\u00a0 “There are sacred spaces in India where you just walk in and it absorbs your karma. Simply coming into contact with the space is therapeutic.”<\/em><\/strong> \u2014 Dr. Pillai<\/strong>. The Birthday Trip<\/a><\/strong> will be starting near a special New Moon<\/strong> called Thai Amavasya<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 A special ritual to honor your ancestors, tarpanam, is the best thing to do. Here is the link to a video teaching you how to offer<\/strong> tarpanam<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thai Amavasya is one of the important New Moons to reduce the impact of Pitru Dosha, known as ancestral affliction. This affliction, which happens due to non-performance of Tarpanam (Ancestral Offerings), can impact you to a great extent and may manifest as prolonged illnesses, misunderstandings at home, no career progress, financial instability, and progeny-related issues. Offering tarpanam is how you can remedy this.<\/p>\n

Hydrate a sivalinga by pouring water\/milk\/juice over it as you chant the karma busting mantra,\u00a0Thiru Neela Kantam Makaral Shivayanama<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em>Visualize\u00a0blue light in your throat. Roll and break a coconut or lime(s) to remove karma.<\/p>\n
