Namaste fellow travelers!\u00a0 Today’s Powertime Practice call<\/strong>, Saturday September 7, 2019 was a bit different in that instead of a live call with Sucharita, we listened to webinars with Lakshmi and Sucharita sharing with us how important the honoring of our ancestors is!\u00a0 Dr. Pillai has coined a term, \u201cSoul Genetics\u201d<\/strong>, which means that not only do we inherit the physical DNA from our parents and all our ancestors, we also inherit their soul DNA.\u00a0 What is Soul Genetics?\u00a0 Dr. Pillai says:\u00a0 <\/strong>“Soul genetics is a gift from the Rishis and the Yogis who have found that who controls your life is not yourself. That who controls your poverty, who controls your wealth, your diseases, health, or relationship are your ancestors<\/strong>. They are linked to your thought process, to your consciousness and your body through your soul.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 This means that we could be inheriting much of their karma as well as continuing to carry our own DNA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Immediately following Lakshmi’s program, Sucharita joined the webinar and taught us about Amavasya Paksha and Mahalaya Paksha.\u00a0 We are approaching the time when the ancestors are close to the earth plane and readily accessible to bless us!\u00a0 During these 15 days we may start having cravings that are unusual.\u00a0 We may want to drink or smoke or eat sweets…this is our ancestors calling out to us with the cravings that they have.\u00a0 We should be honoring our ancestors by performing Tarpanam<\/em><\/strong>, a ceremony of feeding the ancestors and offering them money.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sucharita explained and demonstrated how to do this ceremony.\u00a0 The items that are needed are black sesame seeds, white rice flour, dharba grass, a coin and fresh water.\u00a0\u00a0 Put the items in the palm of your right hand and ask Ganesha to remove obstacles to the tarpanam.\u00a0 Bless up to 6 six generations of ancestors on both mother’s and father’s side of the family.\u00a0 Do this offering everyday, from sunrise to sunset.\u00a0 Don’t do this ceremony after dark because there are restless spirits out there that will bother us.\u00a0 It is best to face south or southwest when you do this ceremony.\u00a0 There is a course on Pillai Academy called Soul Genetics<\/a><\/strong> which explains everything. If you join the course or if you joined in a previous year, you will be able to join a LIVE call with Sucharita on Sunday, September 8<\/strong> at 3:00 p.m. EDT<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

All the moon phases during Mahalaya Paksha<\/strong> are very important, but there are 4 that are especially important:<\/span><\/p>\n

Full Moon<\/strong>-kick starts Mahalaya Paksha-Gives wealth, blessings for marriage or desired relationship<\/span><\/p>\n

4th<\/sup> Moon<\/strong> -Gives ability to master enemies and helps to get the blessings of pets and animals that were killed unintentionally<\/span><\/p>\n

8th<\/sup> Moon<\/strong>-Gives Intelligence and helps to get rid of curses given by victims to our misdeeds. This is a time to fix parts of your life.<\/span><\/p>\n

New Moon-Mahalaya Amavasya<\/strong>-If you miss any of the above days, New Moon is highly recommended. This is also an essential day for doing Tarpanam for those who died due to weapons or accidents. During this day, the known and unknown souls that have departed during the last 30 years are treated equal to God. This is all about freeing the ancestors to higher realms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

13TH MOON – KARMA BUSTING-ONAM PRADOSHAM<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The 13th Moon<\/a> phase is called Pradosham, a karma-removing time. 1 1\/2 hours before sunset through sunset is the most powerful time to pray to Siva to dissolve your bad karma. Hydrate a sivalinga by pouring water\/milk\/juice over it as you chant the karma busting mantra,\u00a0Thiru Neela Kantam Makaral Shivayanama<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em>Visualize\u00a0blue light in your throat. Roll and break a coconut or lime(s) to remove karma.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
