Significance of Shri Suktam<\/h3>\n

Sri Suktham is a Sanskrit hymn of exquisite beauty and grace. It appears in Atharva Veda and is also found as a supplement to Rigveda. In Rigveda, Sri Suktham appears at the end in Parisistabhanga. Many Vedic scholars opine that Sri Suktham origins date even before Rigveda.<\/p>\n

A sadhaka uses the Sri Suktha mantra to invoke, Maha Lakshmi, the Goddess for Wealth<\/a>. He will ready the sacred fire and start the Sri Suktham by chanting the verse, \u201cAarogyam Bhaskarat Itchath Sriyam Itchath Hutasanath\u201d \u2013 which means, \u2018One can achieve health by praying the Sun, and can achieve wealth by praying Goddess Maha Lakshmi through Sacred Fire\u2019. The word \u2018Sri\u2019 refers to \u201cMaha Lakshmi\u201d and the word, \u2018Suktham\u2019 means \u201cwell said\u201d.<\/p>\n
