Here we will be discussing some of the significant power times and the ways they could impact your life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Poornima:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Poornima means full Moon in Sanskrit. It is the fifteenth day of the lunar phase, in which the Moon reaches the final stage in the Shukla Paksha. This day is considered very auspicious to commence any new work or business. Many important festivals fall on Purnima days; Guru Purnima, Kartik Purnima, Buddha Purnima, etc., are some examples. This powertime is also an ideal time to worship most of the Hindu Gods. Many devotees follow the practice of fasting during the Poornima days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Amavasya:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Amavasya is a vital powertime with great significance. It marks the beginning of Shukla Paksha of the lunar month. Amavasya is a perfect day to perform Shraddha ceremonies to please ancestors. As per the Hindu belief the departed forefathers come down to the earth and visit their descendants on this day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Of all the Amavasya, Mahalaya Amavasya is very significant. Amavasya occurring on Monday is Somvati Amavasya, and the Amavasya falling on Saturday is Shani Amavasya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Usually, it is not advisable to start any activity new on an Amavasya day. Moreover, consuming non-vegetarian food has to be avoided.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Pradhosham:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The time present between one and half hours before and after the sunset is known as Pradosham. Though this time occurs every day, the Pradosham time of the Thrayodashi day is believed to be very auspicious. Pradosham powertime is ideal to worship Lord Shiva and Lord Narasimha. Moreover, it is a perfect time to pray for spiritual advancement and material accomplishments. Pradosham falling on a Saturday is known Shani Pradosham and is very auspicious.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Ekadashi:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Ekadashi is a Sanskrit word meaning \u2018Eleven\u2019; it is the eleventh day of two fortnights of the waxing and waning Moon in the lunar month. Ekadashi is the most ideal time to worship Lord Maha Vishnu. Therefore, Vaishnava devotees all over the world observe Ekadashi Vratham (fast) on this day. It is believed that fasting on Ekadashi would bestow peace, harmony, and prosperity upon you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Shashti:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Shashti occurs on the sixth day of each lunar fortnight; thus, there are two occurrences of Shashti every month. The Shashti powertime falling during the Krishna Paksha fortnight is ideal for invoking Lord Subramanya or Lord Muruga. Devotees of Lord Muruga fast during these days and end their fast at the end of the day after praying to Lord Muruga. Of all the Shashti days of a year, the Skanda Shashti falling on the sixth day of the Shukla paksha in the month of Kartika (October \u2013 November) is significant.
