His numerous arms carry several battle implements such as a goad, discus, bow, arrow, sword, club, hook, shield, spear, mace, battle axe, trident, hammer, Nagapasha (serpent noose) and victory flag. His weapons are said to be symbols of tremendous mind powers that Veera Ganapathi can use to remove ignorance and evil. The Moon will be in Uttara Ashadha, a star of enlightenment and prosperity. This fire prayer will invoke Kala Bhairava, archetype of time management, in his form as Asitanga Bhairava. Asitanga Bhairava can help increase creative energy and bless us with success in our ventures. He can also give relief from curses and afflictions. He is often depicted in a standing position with four arms. He holds a mala (rosary), a water vessel, a twisted dagger and a small cup. This Interactive Fire Lab will be performed to invoke Nataraj, a famous dancing form of Shiva who is an archetype of ultimate consciousness. Nataraj is often depicted performing a great cosmic dance, and the statue of the dancing Nataraj housed at the Chidambaram temple in Tamil Nadu, a state in southern India, is a treasured image recognized throughout the world. This cosmic dance of Nataraj takes place in every particle of the cosmos and is the source of all energy. In mythotherapy, the dance of Nataraj is the story of the beginning. Shiva danced as Nataraj and then created the world. As he danced, he created 51 letters, and these 51 letters created consciousness. Celebrating Nataraj also means understanding sounds as Nadha, the sound of Creation. Nadha means the sound that creates the world. Without sound there is nothing. Sound is a primordial vibration. The vibration of Nadha creates Light. In this way, the ecstasy of the dancing Nataraj brings forth both sound and light. On this day, the Moon will be in Shravana, a star of money as well as a star of listening. This fire prayer will invite Nataraj to fill us with his ecstasy and the joy of his dance and to attune us to blessings from cosmic sound and light.
