This Interactive Fire Lab will be performed to invoke Ganesha in his form as Ekakshara Ganapati. Ekam or Eka stand for the number one, and Akshara means the letter. Eka Akshara means a single syllable, and it is associated with the primordial, universal sound OM. As Ekakshara Ganapati, Ganesha can help us contemplate the OM sound, and the OM sound can give us control over our minds and senses. The Fire Lab will be done during the beneficial obstacle removal energies of 4th Waning Moon phase associated with Ganesha. As Ekakshara Ganapati, Ganesha is often depicted in a reddish color, riding on Mushika, the mouse who is his vehicle. On this day, the Moon will be in Uttara Phalguni, a star of enlightenment and blessings. The fire prayer will invoke Ekakshara Ganapati to give us the gift of going deeper in our meditations and exploring the secrets of OM. We ask Ekakshara Ganapati to especially grant us experiences of cosmic unity and to help us become single-minded in following our highest purpose. We can ask him to bring peace to our bodies, minds and souls as well as to the environment.
