This 6 Vels of Muruga on a Base has 5 Vels, each 2.5 inches tall, around a centerpiece Vel (3 inches in height), mounted on a copper base. Praying to Vel is believed to dispel fear, defeat enemies, and help invoke Muruga's powerful protection against karmic forces, destroy negative thought patterns, and bestow Divine wisdom and intelligence.
Dr. Pillai says that a Vel is both an internal and external weapon. Internally, it represents the kundalini force rising from the root chakra and piercing the third-eye chakra, resulting in the awakening of the third-eye and the destruction of ignorance. Externally, the Vel is the mightiest psychic weapon, capable of killing even the most powerful demons.
Directions For Using 6 Vels of Muruga on a Base
- Place the 6 Vels with a base on a clean, sacred altar or a prayer room facing east or north.
- You can perform Abishekam (Hydration Pooja) to the 6 Vels with a base with turmeric water, rose water, or milk according to your personal practice- daily, weekly, or monthly. After Abishekam, rinse the 6 Vels with a base with water and wipe it dry.
- You can put 4 round dots of sandalwood paste at the base and one dot on the center of each Vel.
- You can offer fresh red flowers, sit in front of the Vel, and meditate daily during Mars Hora or on the 6th Moon.
- You can also chant the Mantra 'Om Saravana Bava' 27, 54, or 108 times daily during Mars Hora or on the 6th Moon.
