Devi Mahatmyam Chanting
Chandi Shakti is a very fierce form of the Goddess who has three eyes and possesses powerful weapons given to her by the celestial beings. The creation, sustenance and destruction of the entire universe are within her domain.
The most ferocious form of Adi Parashakti is glorified as Chandi in Devi Mahatmyam in the Markandeya Purana, a sacred Hindu text. The text sings the praise of Goddess Chandi who, in her ruthless form, restored the balance of the universe by defeating and conquering the demons Mahishasura, Shumbha and Nishumbha, the negative energies of indulgence and denial. Goddess Chandi symbolizes the power that perfects your mind, body and soul, giving you the potential of a life free of negativity and suffering.
AstroVed will be performing the Grand 10-Priest Dasa Chandi Homa on June 22, 2018 (IST). Dasa Chandi is no ordinary ritual. Expert priests with years of experience in handling such a complex and powerful homa must perform it. According to the sacred text, this grand Dasa Chandi homa will help you overcome all negative influences and win over your enemies.
Watch Our Priests Perform Dasa Chandi Homa
First, our expert priests will complete Devi Mahatmyam Parayanam (Recitation of 700 Verses). Devi Mahatmyam, also known as Durga Saptashati, celebrates Goddess Chandi in 700 verses grouped under 13 chapters and portrays the victory of good over evil through the stories of Goddess Durga slaying demons. Saptashati (700 Verses) is also used to submit our offerings to the Goddess through the sacred homa fire to remove evil eye and negativity, and ward off enemies.
Second, as noted in Devi Mahatmyam, nine Vedic priests will perform the powerful Dasa Chandi homa while the remaining priest will perform a Tarpanam ritual called Bindu Tarpanam. The sacred ingredients of milk, banana and Dhruva grass are used for performing this unique Tarpanam ritual.
During the homa, a Vedic sacrifice made by combining curd and urad dhal will be offered to Goddess Chandi, which is believed to compel her to bestow her blessings on all participants. Participate in this rare and powerful Grand Dasa Chandi Homa to invoke the blessings of Ferocious Goddess Chandi to remove evil eye from your life and ward off enemies.
