Vasanta Panchami, also popularly celebrated as Saraswati Pooja, is observed in the early part of February during the special 5th Waxing Moon, marking the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It means the 'Fifth Day of Spring' and celebrates the three Supreme Archetypes of knowledge, wisdom, and intelligence -Goddess Saraswati, the Divine Feminine Archetype, Hayagriva, an incarnation of Vishnu, Supreme Preserver of the Universe, and Ezhuthari Nathar (Akshareshwara) a form of Shiva. On this auspicious day, you can access their Divine energies and invoke their blessings to raise your consciousness and enhance your intelligence and creative skills.
What Will I Receive?
You will receive the kum-kum (red vermilion powder), blessed in the ritual. Keep this on your meditation altar and wear it on your forehead during meditation or at other times to expand the Divine blessings into your life.
Dr. Pillai explains this:
The ritual is the carbonization of thoughts. Carbon is our information-bearing atoms. The carbon residue (ash) given out as Prasad is to be placed on the third eye area of the participants and carries the blessings of the archetypes invoked.
