The manifestation of Goddess Durga is said to emerge from her formless essence, and the two remain inseparable.
She is said to have taken nine forms or incarnations, and all these spiritual aspects of hers are worshiped in the grand nine-day festival of Navratri, celebrated with enthusiasm all over the country.

When to Perform Durga Pooja

So any Ashtami tithi, the 8th lunar day, is held as very sacred for worshipping Durga Mata and hence Durgapooja can be performed on Ashtami thithis for receiving the divine mother’s kindness.
