Guru Purnima is a Full Moon that is traditionally regarded as a time when the connection between teacher and student becomes more accessible.
This virtual program offers the opportunity to participate from wherever you are, while still engaging in the teachings, practices, and initiation processes shared by Dr. Pillai during this sacred time.
Over four days, the program follows a natural progression, from understanding the mind and ego, to exploring higher knowledge, to receiving initiation, and finally integrating the experience into daily life.
Even in an online setting, you will find that focused participation—listening, observing, and engaging in the practices—can create meaningful inner shifts that continue to unfold over time.
While the in-person experience offers physical proximity, the Siddha tradition also recognizes that connection is not limited by location.

Throughout the retreat, you’ll encounter the word Diksha, a Sanskrit term often translated as “initiation.” In this context, it points to something more than learning—it refers to a direct inner experience that can unfold in the presence of the Guru.
In the Siddha tradition, knowledge is not only understood intellectually. It is also said to be received through awareness, attention, and connection. Being in the presence of a living master is considered an important part of this process, where insight can arise in ways that go beyond words.

The retreat opens on Surya (Sun) Pradosham, a powerful Sunday evening when the Sun and Shiva energies come together to remove karma, dissolve ego, and awaken Divine Consciousness.
Dr. Pillai is deeply connected to the Sun God. In Tamil, his birth name, Baskaran means “the one who produces light” or “one who gives us light.” The Guru comes as the light of enlightenment that can help you transcend the body, transcend the mind, transcend the ego, and awaken to your true Self.
When the ego dissolves, Divine Consciousness begins to emerge for you to receive:

This session introduces select teachings from the Vibhuti Pada (the Siddhi chapter) of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
Participants will be guided through concepts and techniques that can expand perception, particularly insights into time, karma, and soul patterns. Through heightened awareness, you can begin to see what the ordinary mind cannot see—the past-life influences shaping your life and the future possibilities available to you.
The focus will be on practical understanding—what these abilities mean, how they are described in yogic science, and how they relate to personal growth and decision-making.

Building on the morning session, this evening teaching will focus on manifestation from the perspective of Siddha wisdom.
Rather than a purely psychological approach, this session will explore how intention, awareness, and consciousness are believed to interact in shaping reality. Dr. Pillai is expected to share select techniques inspired by ancient yogic texts that relate to bringing thoughts into form.

The session will invoke masters such as Agastya, Kaagapujander, and Vyasa, each associated with profound wisdom, transmission of knowledge, and spiritual evolution.

The Full Moon night of Guru Purnima is considered the most significant moment of the entire retreat.
This session will include a live initiation from Dr. Pillai. During Guru Purnima, it is traditionally understood that higher intelligence and guidance can become more accessible, and the teachings shared at this time may arise spontaneously in the moment. The initiation is expected to include one or more forms of Diksha (initiation), which in the Siddha tradition refers to a transmission of energy or awareness.
