Mahalaya Paksha, also known as Pitru Paksha, is a sacred 15-day Vedic period dedicated to honoring and appeasing ancestors (Pitrus) through Tarpanam (Ancestral Offerings) and Shraddh rituals. Performing Tarpanam during this time satisfies the souls of ancestors, liberates them from earthly bondages, and brings blessings of health, prosperity, longevity, and spiritual progress to their lineage.
Pitru Pooja, also known as Shradh or Pitru Paksha, is a sacred Vedic ritual performed to honor, appease, and offer gratitude to departed ancestors. It helps their souls attain peace, supports liberation from the cycle of birth and death, and clears ancestral debts (Pitru Rina).
Pancha Ghat Ganga Snanam at the Varanasi Powerspot refers to a sacred bath at Panchganga Ghat, believed to be the invisible confluence of five holy rivers. Mentioned in the Kashi Khand of the Skanda Purana, this site is associated with Sage Bhrigu and is known for its power to grant relief from the hardships caused by bad karma, sins, and afflictions.
Pinda Dhanam is a sacred ancestral offering performed with rice balls at Pancha Ganga Ghat in Varanasi, where five holy rivers spiritually converge.
