Kubera Yantra

The Kuber Yantra is a metal plate made from copper. It is inscribed with the conciliation of Lord Kubera. The yantra is constructed with dots which are connected by lines to form nine boxes. The numbers such as 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28 are filled in these boxes. The total of each row and column sums up to 72.

It is believed that 72 is a lucky number that will bring prosperity and wealth in life.

How Do Yantra Work

Yantra is a geometrical diagram used for worship and meditation in houses as well as temples. It is carved or drawn on a metal sheet, usually copper or gold. Every deity has a specific yantra. The yantra of Kuber is known as Kubera yantra and is widely worshipped by the people.

Kubera Yantra is Kubera himself. So, if you regularly worship and meditate towards the Kubera Yantra, Lord Kuber will bestow his blessing upon you.

The Kubera yantra contains a lot of energy and opens up new opportunities to bring prosperity to your life. You can keep the Kuber Yantra at home or office, or both places. Please place the Kuber Yantra on a flat surface or hang it facing the North or East direction. Now, decorate the nine boxes in the yantra with a coin and flower.

A point to note is that the Kubera yantra must be levelled with the center of your eyes. Most Importantly, trust the power of the yantra; don’t be suspicious about its energy. The yantra will works when you believe in its powers and stay positive.

Steps of the Kubera Yantra Meditation

1. Before meditating on the yantra, place it on a flat surface or hang it in the North/East facing direction.

2. Now, put a mat and sit in a comfortable position on the ground. Ensure your back is in a straight position.

3. Light a lamp and an incense stick in front of the Kubera yantra.

4. Now, focus on the center of the Kuber Yantra.

5. Then, it would be best if you chanted the mantra, “Om Hreem Shreem Hreem Kuberaya Namaha.” for a minimum of 21 times and a maximum of 108 times for optimal results.

Lord Kubera and his Physical Appearance

Hindus worship Lord Kubera as the God of Wealth. He is also known as Dhanpati, the custodian of wealth. Kubera was born to Vishrava and Illavida. Kubera is married to Kauberi, and they have four children. Nalakubara, Manigriva, and Mayuraja are his sons and Meenakshi, is his only daughter. He is a pious devotee of Lord Shiva and is the half-brother of the demon-king Ravana.

‘Kubera’ is a Sanskrit word and means ill Shaped or deformed. Proving his name right, Lord Kubera is portrayed as having a fat and dwarf body. His complexion is similar to that of the lotus leaves, and he has some deformities. Lord Kubera being the deity of wealth, carries a pot full of gold coins and is adorned with heavy jewellery and precious stones.

Kubera holds a mace, and a pomegranate, and a Mongoose in his hands. The two divine treasures Padma and Shankha, stand beside him in human form. Kuberan rides on a man and possesses ‘Pushpak Vimana,’ the divine flying vehicle.

Kubera is the king of Yakshas and is one among the Ashta dikpalakas (the guardians of eight directions). He guards the north direction. It is rare to find individual temples for Kubera, but some temples contain small Kubera shrines.

Invoking Lord Kubera

  • Lord Kubera is invoked by performing Kubera puja. During this puja, Vedic sukta mantras are chanted, and special Vedic rituals are performed.
  • Kubera puja is done on the day of Dhanteras. It is believed that those who worship Lord Kubera on Dhanteras and Diwali are bestowed with wealth, luxury and prosperity.
  • Place the photo/idol of Lord Kubera and Goddess Lakshmi on the puja platform.
  • Join your palms in prayer and invoke Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kubera.
  • Chant the Lakshmi Kubera mantra.
  • Offer flowers, Chandan, Akshata, Doop, and Deep
  • Offer fruits, sweets, and milk to the Lord.
  • After puja, follow it with Lord Kubera Aarti

2. Kubera Dhana Prapti Mantra

Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Shreem Kleem Vitteshvaraya Namah॥

Meaning: I pay my respect to Lord Kuber, who gives wealth and fame and destroys evil.

3. Kubera Ashta-Lakshmi Mantra

Om Hreem Shreem Kreem Shreem Kuberaya Ashta-Lakshmi

Mama Grihe Dhanam Puraya Purana Namah॥

Meaning: I bow down to Lord Kuber and Goddess Lakshmi(sri lakshmi kubera) to bless me with all the wealth and prosperity of the world.

4. Kuber Gayatri Mantra

” Om Yaksha Rajaya Vidhmaya Alikadeesaya Deemahe Tanna Kubera Prechodayath.”

Meaning: We meditate on Lord Kuber, who is the king of the Yakshas and the son of Vishravana. May the kubera swamy illuminate our intellect and inspire us.
