Lalitha Trishati Stotram – Introduction
Sakta is a branch of Hinduism that believes and worships Goddess Sakthi as Supreme. The stotram is very popular amongst ‘Sakthi upasakas,’ those practicing the Sakta philosophy. The Stotram is found in Brahmanda Purana, under the chapter Lalithopakyanam. The Lalitha Trishati Stotram is next only to the Lalitha Sahasranama in terms of importance.
Lalitha Trishati is an auspicious Sanskrit Stotram that lists the 300 Divine Names of Goddess Lalitha or Goddess Parvathi Devi. The Lalitha Trishati Stotram features in the Brahmaanda Purana as a conversation happening between Sage Agastya and Lord Hayagriva, the god for wisdom and an important avatar of Lord Vishnu.
