How Rituals like Breaking Coconuts Can Help Solve Your Problems
This is a teaching which I have come to call ‘the ultimate teaching’. It is the quintessence of all my teachings, those which I have gathered over time and I am very satisfied with them.
What is The Ultimate Teaching?
I can answer this in just a few words – break coconuts and your life will change.
This may sound crazy, superstitious and cultic, but let me explain what these two words mean ‘break coconuts’.
A businessman once came to me who had invested all his money, about 20 million dollars, in a government business contract. There was a court case; the government said there was no way it would be able to go ahead with the program. It would take a year for them to get a license. This businessman was in tears and came to me for help.
I said “Keep breaking coconuts until you succeed.” Within 40 days or so, he had succeeded. This is part of the ultimate teaching, “How breaking coconuts can influence your life.”
Breaking A Coconut to A Particular Deity Can Influence Your Life
I recall many years ago when I was studying for my PhD at the University of Pittsburgh. The Dean at the School of Religion (Chicago) wrote a book titled Imagining Religion. In this book he talked about coconuts and why they are considered sacred all over the world. I was a respondent to him in that conference.
I am a Phenomenologist of Religion and believe in the sacredness of life. He was an Economist of Religion and believed that the coconut was important because someone had linked it to his coconut business. He created a mythology around it. I told him: “This is silly; you have to look at the whole gamut of the phenomenon.”
I can talk about the phenomenon forever. How accessing and breaking a coconut to a particular deity can influence your life. In quantum physics, the latest findings about the Von Economo Neuron show that this is the most intelligent neuron linked to it.
The ultimate teaching is about calling on someone with great intelligence to solve your problems. That is how I solved the businessman’s problem.
Seek Help from a Different Dimension
The ultimate teaching is about finding a solution to a problem for which there is no solution at all. You need a solution that comes from a different dimension. From today onward, this will be the content of the ultimate teachings, because we are limited in so many ways. We do not have access to anything that allows the mind to think.
The mind will allow somebody to go and work in a fast food shop or grocery store because that is their world. The President has his own world, “I am the President,” so that is his identity.
Every identity has to be challenged and that is the ultimate teaching. It does not matter if a person has an MD, or a PhD. That is not what you need to succeed.
To succeed you have to have consciousness, not the consciousness that you acquired through learning by going to schools and universities, but the consciousness that is innate within you.
Breaking Coconuts and the Subconscious Mind
I have just returned from India where I met a couple of billionaires. They started restaurants and then became billionaires. Their restaurants are now global, they are everywhere. They started their businesses with no education at all. That is how powerful the subconscious mind is. It is the part of the mind that you are not using – the ultimate teaching is about using the subconscious mind to do things for you. How do you do that? Just break coconuts.
Going back to my original story, the court stated: “We have revised your case and you can start your business right away.” The lawyers were completely astonished by what had happened. They tried to argue the case, but the court said “No, there is no case now. The business can go ahead.” This is an uncommon solution but it is the ultimate teaching.
It can happen in your life through the involvement of a different intelligence. Einstein said the same thing. He said “You cannot solve a problem with the same mindset which created the problem. You need a totally different mindset.”
So, the ultimate teaching is about creating a new mindset.
