I am a Yogi and a Scientist

I am primarily a Yogi. And I am secondarily a scientist. And I need to be both because I don’t want to be a Yogi who can fall victim to tradition and blind faith. Being a scientist, that balances it. And I will tell you how it has helped me.

Dr. Pillai Tests His Techniques with EEG Studies

I am testing, I know about hundreds of meditations from different traditions. But I always test them by hooking my EEG machine on to my own brain and then see how I can go and activate different parts of the brain and how I can get to a Theta or Delta State. And then I do this periodically, almost a few times a week, in order to experiment which technique is going to work.

Traditional Knowledge: Truti = Yogic Time

And then, of course, the traditional knowledge, I am not putting it down. The traditional knowledge is great because I talked about it yesterday. The concept of time called a Truti in Sanskrit which means 3 million and 240,000th of a second — 3,240,000th of a second.  This is the time within which your thought can manifest, or a Mantra should be completed within this time.

So, that gives us a great amount of enthusiasm, hope and renewed energy to see that, to know that, after all, I am not meditating a lot and I can’t expect a lot of benefit from it. That’s a wrong concept.

So, be assured that though you are practicing for a few seconds, these techniques will work.

You May Also Test Yourself with an EEG Machine

If you want to test yourself, get an inexpensive EEG machine and then see what’s happening. You know, when you open your eyes, of course, your brain waves will go to the regular agitated states that you can also see. And then you will lose your Theta State. But then, slightly open your eyes and watch the monitor. That’s what I do.

The technique is to tap — tap, tap, tap — 1, 2, 3.

Don’t go fast.  Even if you go fast, don’t forget to focus attention on the Brow Chakra.

Brow Chakra is the Chakra in between the two eyebrows that corresponds to the Pituitary Gland. The Pituitary Gland is different from the Pineal Gland. Because there is a great deal of confusion that goes on: that people think the Pituitary is the Third Eye. That Pituitary Gland is not the Third Eye. The Third Eye is the Pineal Gland which is right above and back into the Brain. Of course, it’s also in the MidBrain area.

Let’s go and do the Technique. That’s the most important thing.

It’s just:

Close Your Eyes.

And then Tap three times.

One. Feel it!  Two. Feel it.  Three. Feel it.

This is the first Set of Three.

This is the Second Set:

One. Feel it!  Two. Feel it. Three. Feel it.

The Third Set:

One. Feel it!  Two. Feel it. Three. Feel it.

Keep Feeling It.

Now, you can open your eyes. You are finished.

But remember, you have done a great job, in only a minute, or even less.
