On March 13, 2017, the Sun entered the mystical sign of Pisces. You can expect many opportunities this month for deep meditations and participation in Vedic ceremonies.
Pisces, called Meena in Sanskrit, is the most mystical and transcendental of all the signs, giving you the ability to go beyond the limitations of ordinary experience. Pisces is a water sign ruled by the 200% planet Jupiter. This zodiac is symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions in the sea of consciousness. Swimming in opposite directions means ending duality. A fish symbolize fertility & prosperity.
As the natural 12th house of the zodiac, Pisces is associated with liberation and losses. Liberation can mean freedom from karma and limitations…enlightenment. Loss could mean expenses, wasting time and energy, or any type of loss. Although we mostly think of loss as negative, it could be positive if you lose your limited self and ego. On a practical level, be careful to keep your expenses down and not to overspend. Do service by helping people this month however you are able.
The 12th house is associated with foreign countries and places of solitude like ashrams, hospitals, and jails. It also relates to long distance travel. In a foreign country, you may feel more uncertain and have to depend more on intuition. Pisces can help you develop your psychic powers.
The 12th house is associated with sleep and with sexual activity. This month could be a good time to celebrate your sexual powers, perhaps by learning some tantric yoga. Pay attention to your dreams and see what messages come to you. If you have trouble sleeping, take it as an opportunity to get up and meditate during the quiet of the early morning hours.
Venus and Mercury are also transiting Pisces – Venus is exalted and Mercury debilitated so they will balance each other out a bit. Having a strong Venus should make it a good time to enhance your connection with the Goddess during Vasanth Navaratri. With Mercury rather weak and confused, be careful with communication and technology.

Purva Bhadrapada can help you become purified and on fire with divine consciousness.
Uttara Bhadrapada March 17th – March 30th
Uttara Bhadrapada is the second half of the pair with Purva Bhadrapada. They are sometimes called the “scorching pair”. Uttara Bhadrapada is associated with the kundalini energy. It also contains the cooling energy of water which balances out the fire. Uttara Bhadrapada can help you remember the big picture as you apply determination to reach your goals and increase your intelligence through spiritual practices.
Revati March 30th – April 12th
Revati is the last nakshatra and is said to contain energies from all the previous 26 stars. It is a star of wealth and nourishment. Revati can give you the ability to help others and also to enjoy a good social life.
Favorable Activities
- Enjoy meditating and participating in the many Vedic ceremonies this month. Go inside and discover the Kingdom within you. If you can, visit a spiritual power spot, go on a retreat, or enjoy extra quiet time.
- Access your intuition and receive guidance about what goals to focus on starting when the Vedic New Year starts on April 13th. Prepare yourself for the action-oriented month of April 13th – May 14th when the Sun will be in Aries.
- Be careful not to overspend time or energy. You may want to make a charitable contribution and pay off some of your debts.
- If you start feeling isolated or ungrounded, reach out to others, walk in nature, exercise, and possibly do some charitable work to help others.
