On April 13, 2017 at 4:30 pm EDT the Sun transits into the first house of the zodiac, Aries, and becomes exalted. Sun will be in Aries for one month.
This transit brings in a new energy for the entire year, and is celebrated as the Vedic New Year. It is the Year of Success. Dr Pillai said, “I want the world to be reborn on this day.” He has put out YouTube videos on the Vedic New Year including a Sun and Moon Meditation. He will be giving a special webcast, which is available through the Miracle School Program.
Exalted Sun this month gives you opportunities to strengthen your health and advance in your endeavors. The Sun is your soul, your vitality, royalty consciousness, and symbolizes your father.
Aries is the most action-oriented of all the signs. It is called Mesha in Sanskrit. Aries is a fiery, movable sign symbolized by a ram. A ram is an agile, adventurous animal that can climb up mountain slopes that look impossibly steep. Rams can butt heads with others.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, which relates to yourself, identity, and physical body. It is ruled by Mars, a planet of action, problem-solving, and courage. Exalted Sun will energize your goals and help you to take action to achieve them.
Venus is exalted in Pisces until May 30th, blessing you with Goddess energy for manifesting prosperity and anything beautiful that you love.

Ashwini (April 13 – 26) is a star of healing and quickness. Symbol is a horse’s head – horses are swift, sensitive, and alert. Spontaneous. Very good at initiating projects. Associated with Ganesha, who we always should call on at the beginning of any project.
Bharani (April 27 – May 10) is a star of transformation. It contains the Divine Feminine energy that can create anything. Gives the ability to manifest ideas into physical reality; birthing something into the world. Bharani encompasses extremes. Helps you experience creativity and manifesting.
Krittika (May 11 – May 24) is a star of truth and purification. The purification often happens through cutting and burning. Symbolized by an axe or razor. Associated with Lord Muruga and the Pleiades. Krittika has a piercing quality. Can be critical – doesn’t want to tolerate imperfections that get in the way of goals.
Favorable Activities
- This is the time to reorganize your life – Dr Pillai
- Write your goals and/or make a vision board with images. Or rewrite them. What does your soul wants to do now?
- Start new projects. Take action to promote yourself and your endeavors. Be enterprising, practical, and problem-solving.
- Honor the Sun by chanting his mantra or doing the Sun and Moon Meditation. This will be especially effective on Sundays and during Sun horas, sunrises, and sunsets.
- Be careful not to give in to impatience, anger, or selfishness.
- Take action to improve your health – start an exercise program, eat foods that nourish you, get needed medical help, etc.
