  5. Sun Transits Sagittarius

sagThe Sun entered Sagittarius on Monday, December 15th and will travel through Sagittarius until about January 15th.

The Sun is our Soul, the king, royal consciousness, the father. Sagittarius is the most idealistic of the signs. Sagittarius brings in the energy of wisdom, fortune, philosophy, justice, fair play, ethics, and humanitarian actions.

Sagittarius, or Dhanus in Sanskrit, is symbolized by the centaur. Centaurs are archers with the back legs of a horse and the upper body of a man. The centaur is aiming his bow and arrow up toward the heavens. This illustrates Sagittarius’ focus on the transformation of matter into spiritual consciousness.

Sagittarius is also the natural 9th house of the zodiac, which brings us the energies of grace, compassion & fortune. It also relates to your father, your guru or other teacher, and pilgrimages. The 9th house is a house of prosperity.

The way to receive grace & fortune is to have compassion for people who are suffering. Dr Pillai says the easiest way to receive the grace of God is to feed a famished human being who is starving for food.

This month is a good time to:

  • Value knowledge. You might want to take advanced training or get involved in higher education.
  • Respect & honor your spiritual teacher, and be open to receiving blessings from him or her.
  • Be careful not to be fanatical or think your way is the only way.
  • Motivate & inspire others; be a visionary, and honor traditions.
  • Do acts of compassion & charity that help to uplift other suffering souls.
  • Be receptive to receiving benefits and good fortune. Celebrate and move forward with optimism.

Sun in Sagittarius Quick Summary: take action for compassion; be receptive to grace and good fortune, and enjoy wisdom and traditions.

hanuman mountainLord Hanuman’s Birthday

Today is Sunday, December 21, 2014. It is the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere – the Winter Solstice. It’s also the New Moon day that falls in the Moola star, so we also celebrate Hanuman’s birthday. Hanuman is the monkey god who can do impossible things.

Isn’t it hard to believe that exactly two years have passed since 12/21/2012? That was the date when the old calendar ended and the Golden Age began dawning. It is interesting to note that Lord Hanuman is marking the anniversary with his birthday, when he floods the earth plane with his compassionate angelic energy of performing miracles to uplift people.

Moola, the star of the day, carries the energy of getting to the root of things and of breaking old agreements/contracts. With the New Moon’s energy of minimum mind and enlightenment, it’s a powerful day to clean the slate and start anew.

How have you changed since 12/21/2012?

What old agreements, behavior & patterns that no longer serve you are you ready to let go?

Ask Lord Hanuman for the miracles you need and desire in your life.

New Years 2015 Preview:

In India the year will start off with the very special Vaikunta Ekadaasi 11th Waxing Moon, which will powerfully bring in Vishnu’s blessings for prosperity, healing and spiritual liberation. In the west, the New Year will start off with the 12th Waxing Moon, which also carries Vishnu and Lakshmi’s energy, and is a good time to perform charity.

The star of the day will be the Pleiadian Star Krittika, ruled by Lord Muruga. Krittika is a star of truth, of purification through burning or cutting. It’s the star of the Pleiadians, who are bringing in higher consciousness.

Muruga rules Mars, which is currently exalted and emitting maximum power to bless us with right action, problem-solving, true self esteem, and opening of our 3rd eye.

It is very interesting to note that Mars will be achieving his exact point of highest exaltation on January 1 or 2, depending on where you are in the world.

Looks to be a super-charged year of higher consciousness as we start to fully embrace the Golden Age and take action to create Heaven on Planet Earth!
