A Look Ahead For July 2022 Astrology

[Note: The dates in this blog for July 2022 are based on North America timings. Dates may be the same or different in other parts of the world, such as Asia.]

“The purpose of life is total freedom.” ~ Dr. Pillai

When July begins, the Sun is still in Gemini where he remains until mid-July. He brings clever action in all forms of communication. The Sun’s movement through Gemini lights up the topics of improving communication skills and exploring talents. In some areas, people will be able to accept social invitations and to enjoy the company of others. Some people may experience fresh opportunities for new training or learning new skills. This is a good time to lighten up a bit and renew our own sense of humor, including our ability to laugh at ourselves or to put a smile on the face of others. Some people may be faced with developing more courage and examining their ability to take risks.

Saturday, July 2nd Mercury enters Gemini. Mercury rules Gemini, so he is comfortable in this location. Mercury stimulates mental focus in this air sign. This is a positive time for thinking, writing, reading and all forms of communication. It is a good time to explore a variety of interests and develop talents. Among the planets, Mercury is the merchant planet. He is in charge of all forms of buying and selling. This is a favorable period to ask for commercial success and to be open to new ideas for improving one or more income streams.

Saturday, July 2nd is a 4th Waxing Moon and a great day to invoke Ganesha to remove obstacles with some Coconut Breaking and a simple chant such as OM GUM GANESHAYA NAMAHA. For much of the day, the Moon will be in Ashlesha star, a star Dr. Pillai says can give comforts. We can ask Ganesha to bless us with renewing our willingness to accept and appreciate comforts and to share comforts with others.

Monday, July 4th is Independence Day in USA. This is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress. This declared that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and no longer part of the British Empire.

Monday, July 4th is a 6th Waxing Moon. Muruga, a warrior/healer archetype, rules the 6th Waxing Moon. This is an especially effective day to pray to Muruga for protection from enemies, rivals and evil-eye as well as for help to maintain good health. Dr. Pillai has said, “If you have the blessings of Muruga, you will get into miracles instantaneously.” Quantum sounds to invoke Muruga are OM MURUGAYA NAMAHA.

Tuesday, July 5th is a Nataraj Abishekam. Many people like to pour water, whole milk and juice over a dancing Siva (Nataraj) statue or Siva Linga. Simple sounds are OM NAMASIVAYA or any variation of those sounds you have been given by a teacher. Some people like to dance with joy.

Saturday, July 9th is an 11th Waxing Moon. All 11th Moons are an Ekadasi. They are an auspicious time to connect with Vishnu for wealth. During this time, Vishnu is giving access to tremendous positive energy that can transform our financial mindset. A mantra to invoke the wealth-creation aspects of Vishnu is

OM NARAYANAYA VIDH MAHE

VASU DEVAYA DHI MAHI

TANNO VISHNU PRACHODAYAT

Both Monday, July 11th and Monday, July 25th will be a 13th Waning Moon and a Soma Pradosham. All Pradoshams are a time when we can dissolve negative karmas through the compassion of the divine. When a Pradosham falls on a Monday (a day ruled by the Moon), it is known as Soma Pradosham. Soma means juice in Sanskrit. Just as the Moon has influence on the tides of the oceans, the Moon also has influence on plants and vegetation on Earth, including the juice of sap in plants. In mytho-therapy, Soma is also associated with a nectar or juice of immortality of which the Moon is a receptacle. The Moon rules our mind and emotions. Soma Pradosham is considered an especially powerful time to clear suffering from negative karma related to the mind and emotions. This can be an extra strong day to cut limes or lemons, do karma removal chants such as THIRU NEELA KANTAM and pour milk over a lingam sometime during the hour and a half period before sunset in our local area.

“The Full Moon of the Guru is the most important time of the year to accelerate your spiritual evolution and receive the blessings of the Guru.” ~ Dr. Pillai

Tuesday, July 12th is Full Moon and a special Full Moon that occurs once a year called Guru Purnima. The Moon will be in Purvashada, a star of prosperity. Every Full Moon is always a good day for some SHREEM BRZEE chanting and energizing our goals for material plane manifestation. This is an opportunity to consciously tune into the Full Moon’s subtle power over the brain for blessings of abundance.

Every Full Moon is known as Purnima. Guru is a word that means “remover of darkness”, and it has also come to mean “teacher” as teachers are people who remove our ignorance by sharing their knowledge and wisdom with us. On Guru Purnima, the blessings of enlightened teachers are showered upon the Earth. In addition, angels and ascended masters are also transmitting light during Guru Purnima to help remove the ignorance of humanity. This is a holy night when we can honor and feel appreciation and love for all of our teachers and especially for all those who have shared enlightened teachings on this planet. Guru Purnima is a time when we can more easily receive a light of higher consciousness.

Dr. Pillai has said about Guru Purnima, “Regardless of who you are, what your stars are, and whether you are going through good or bad times, you can benefit on this day.”

Through divine grace, we can receive merit worth hundreds of hours of meditation simply by surrendering with love, respect and gratitude to our teachers on Guru Purnima. In the Vedic tradition, a simple prayer that we can recite on Guru Purnima to invoke the blessings of enlightened gurus is:

Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu

Guru Devo Maheshwaraha

Guru Saakshat Para Brahma

Tasmai Sree Gurave Namaha

So what happens when enlightened gurus get involved? These are people who live in a state of consciousness where it is not difficult to change someone’s destiny. Enlightened gurus are often attributed with having the ability to change the karma of people, and they have selflessly taken upon themselves this mission of making life easier for people. So that is their obligation, and they freely send out blessings on Guru Purnima.

The Moola Mantra for Dr. Pillai is

Om Aim Hreem Sarva Lokaya Adityaya Siva Sadguru Shreem Brzee Swaha

Also on Tuesday, July 12th Saturn retrograde enters Capricorn. Saturn rules Capricorn, so he is in a comfortable location. This is a sign of ancient past life karmas and abilities. While he is retrograde, he is more powerful, so it is important for us to be aligned with his agenda of compassionate service. This a favorable time for deep focus on accomplishing things through hard work. It is a good time to be serious about completing projects.

Wednesday, July 13th Venus enters Gemini. Some people may become more charming and flirtatious in relationships. This is a good period for enjoyment of luxury as well as for religious devotion. Venus can trigger renewed focus on the arts and creativity. This can be a good period to develop talents or explore interests related to entertainment. Positive friendships may be strengthened during this period.

Saturday, July 16th is a 4th Waning Moon and a great day to invoke Ganesha to remove obstacles with some Coconut Breaking and a simple chant such as OM GUM GANESHAYA NAMAHA.

Saturday, July 16th the Sun enters Cancer, and he initiates the Tamil month of Aadi until mid-August. Aadi is considered a Goddess month as the Sun activates Goddess Consciousness since he is the King visiting Cancer, a sign ruled by the Moon (the Queen).

We all have the potential inside us to develop a relationship with the Goddess and live her consciousness of love, abundance, intelligence and positive manifesting. The energies of the Sun in Cancer from mid-July until mid-August support us in connecting with the Goddess.

The Sun’s entrance into Cancer is also the beginning of Dakshinayana, a six month period of the Sun traveling southward through the Zodiac until he enters Capricorn in  January. Dr. Pillai has explained, “Just as the Sun is the central light of our solar system, it is also the source of our inner light.”

For the next six months, we can all go on an inner journey of Self-Discovery. There will be many spiritual festivals during the upcoming six months.

The Sun’s light especially illuminates our inner consciousness during this time. The Dakshinayana energies will support us for six months for inward reflection, research, writing and creating the foundations for launching successful projects.

In the Vedic tradition, Cancer is symbolized by a crab. Crabs are sensitive and live in a rather narrow band of geography. Crabs go just so far into the water, and they go just so far up onto the sand. Cancer is considered to be the most emotionally sensitive of all the Zodiac signs.

The Sun in Cancer may light up and stimulate topics such as home, the Mother (or Mother figure) and family. Feelings can be deeply sensitive during this time. This period can bring out emotional and nurturing qualities.

Some people may experience their intuition is more heightened. For many people the Sun in Cancer is a good time to become more nurturing toward others, to have more empathy, to perform actions of kindness and to strengthen an inner connection with the divine feminine.

Saturday, July 16th Mercury enters Cancer. This period can enhance our creative or emotional thinking. Some people may need to guard against quarrels with friends or relatives. Some people may be able to improve their sense of humor during this period.

Monday, July 18th is a 6th Waning Moon and a good day to invoke Muruga for protection and blessings with a simple chant such as OM MURUGAYA NAMAHA.

Friday, July 22nd is the first of 4 special Fridays in the month of Aadi for connecting with the Goddess. These Fridays are known as Aadi Velli. Every Friday is ruled by Venus and is regarded as special for praying to the Goddess in all her forms.

However, all of the Aadi Velli Fridays are especially favorable days to unite with divine feminine Goddess power or Shakti. The various Goddesses invoked on Aadi Fridays bestow significant blessings and divine energy to both men and women without any gender barrier.

On Aadi Velli Fridays the Goddesses shower abundant blessings and positive energy to all those who approach with a sincere frame of mind and open heart.

The Goddesses bestow generous blessings on Aadi Velli Fridays for protection from negativity, removal of sorrow and provide invigorating support for enhanced well-being and sustained progress toward goals.  During Aadi Velli Fridays the Goddesses grant rare boons for superior power and confer the great energy of an unyielding driving force for success.

People who suffer from obstacles to relationships or long for relationship harmony propitiate the Goddesses on Aadi Velli Fridays to resolve relationship problems and accomplish gracious harmony and peaceful family life. Many people will use SHREEM BRZEE sounds on Aadi Velli Fridays.

Saturday, July 23rd will be an Ekadasi, an 11th Waning Moon. All 11th Moons are an auspicious time to connect with Vishnu for wealth. Ekasdasi is a very good time to remain open and alert and to ask for financial blessings and abundance. We can use the wealth-creation mantra given earlier.

Tuesday, July 26th is a 14th Waning Moon and a Shivaratri. It is a good day to break coconuts for Ganesha to remove obstacles and also to hydrate a Shiva lingam with water and milk with the sounds OM NAMASIVAYA and ask blessings from Shiva’s infinite intelligence and compassion.

Dr Pillai’s Holy Spirit Message

“You don’t only inherit biological genes but also spiritual or soul genes from your ancestors.” ~ Dr. Pillai

Wednesday, July 27th is a special New Moon called Aadi Amavasya. Aadi Amavasya is one of the three most powerful New Moons each year for helping our ancestors. It occurs on the first New Moon after the Sun has moved into Cancer. Fasting and Tarpanam done during this New Moon during daylight hours in your local area is extremely beneficial. It is one of the most effective ways of honoring your ancestors. Thank your ancestors for their contribution in your life, and pray for peace to their souls.

Friday, July 29th is the second of 4 special Fridays for connecting with the Goddess, an Aadi Velli Friday.

Friday, July 29th Jupiter goes retrograde in Pisces, a sign he rules. Jupiter’s power is enhanced during this time. This is a good time for education, spiritual practices and teachings. Be careful of being overly idealistic, indulgent or taken in by grandiose schemes, and keep all banking and legal affairs in good order. For some, Jupiter may increase both wisdom and wealth.

Saturday, July 30th Mercury enters Leo. Mercury here can help us be more conscious to take intelligent action when communicating. Mercury can assist us in making improvements in management of our business matters or anything related to communication including writing or speaking. He can encourage us to have some interactions with friendly people and also help us in developing more spiritual discernment.
