Lord Kala Bhairava is the Archetype of Time, much like the Greek God, Chronos. Forms of Bhairava
Kal Bhairava is generally depicted featuring a black complexion and holds different weapons in his hands. He wears a skull garland and has a dog as his Vahana. Bhairava is believed to have several manifestations, and amongst them, eight are very popular and are referred to as Ashta Bhairavas. The eight manifestations are Asithaanga Bhairava, Ruru Bhairava, Chanda Bhairava, Krodha Bhairava, Unmattha Bhairava, Kapaala Bhairava, Bheeshana Bhairava, and Samhaara Bhairava.
Unmattha Bhairava, the fifth in line of Ashta bhairavas, features a white complexion. He has four hands and holds a sword and skull cup in his lower hands and a pestle and shield in his upper hands. Goddess Varahi is his consort, and he is in control of the west direction.
It is believed that Unmatha Bhairava blesses you with the gifts of humility, discipline, skillful speech, and excellent time management.
