  5. Can Different Spiritual Traditions...

Dr. Pillai is challenging the global spiritual community to come together and be a force to establish the Golden Age.

In the first Global Forum for the Golden Age, Dr. Pillai was asked the important question: How can different Masters, representing unique traditions come together?

The answer and inspiration lies in the example of a great Siddha who lived thousands of years ago …

Question:

The concept for a Global Forum for The Golden Age is fantastic, but there is a problem.

How do you get all of these different Masters, teaching different philosophies and techniques, how can they come together to share a common platform?

There may be conflicts and ego issues. How do you address that?

Dr. Pillai’s Answer:

“There are ego issues, and how can you address that?

If you are egocentric, then it’s not going to work.

I just remembered, Yoga Vasishta. It is again Rama who is being trained by Vasishta.

Vasishta takes Rama to Kakabashunda. Kakabashunda is the guy who is the Master of pranayama.

If you want to know about pranayama, of different kinds and how pranayama can give you enlightenment and immortality, you have to go to Kakabashunda.

So he takes him to Kakabashunda, and Kakabashunda is immortal.

But Vasishta dies and is reborn. He goes to Kakabashunda, and Kakabashunda goes and washes the feet of Vasishta.

Vasishta says, “Master why are you doing that. You are bigger than him?”

Kakabashunda: “No, no it’s not that … Vasishta is a great Guru. He died many times and this is the eighth time he has reincarnated, but I never died. That doesn’t mean anything.”

So how many Gurus are like that now?

We have to evolve to that level not to look at the other person as a threat. That is very, very important.

Once that conviction comes within the Guru, the different Gurus of different religious traditions … then we can come together.”
