  5. Sun Enters Pisces

SunSymbol

NOTE: On Sunday, March 13th we had a Vedic Astrological Forecast, but Sucharita wasn’t able to join us due to interuptions to her internet/phone access in India. If you’re on our email list, we’ll send you an update about the status of next week’s call.

On March 14, 2016, the Sun will enter the mystical sign of Pisces. The Sun is our Soul, the King of our universe, around which the other physical planets revolve. Sun signifies your father, energy and activity. In Vedic Astrology, the sun’s symbol is a circle with a point in the center. According to Bepin Behari, the central dot is the fountain of primordial energy from which all  forms of manifestation arise, and the outer circles symbolizes the realm of manifestation

Pisces, called Meena in Sanskrit, is the most transcendental of all the signs. Transcendent means extending beyond the bounds of ordinary experience or to rise above the normal limits of something. It also means to triumph over the negative or restrictive aspects of something.

Pisces is a water sign ruled by the 200% planet Jupiter. Pisces is symbolized by two fish swimming in opposite directions. The ocean is the sea of consciousness. Swimming in opposite directions means ending duality. Fish bring fertility & prosperity. Lord Vishnu came in a fish-like form in one of his incarnations. Here in the US, organic farmers often use fish emulsion to fertilize their fields.

In his book, Myths and Symbols of Vedic Astrology, Bepin Behari notes that the energy of Pisces has to do with moving on to a new universal consciousness that seeks the good for all life. This only happens after the shell of personal considerations is broken. This is like when you really say to the Divine, “Thy will (not mine) be done.” At that point the Divine will realign you.

As Pisces is the natural 12th house of the zodiac, Sun is entering the final zodiac before the cycle begins anew. The seed gets preserved and will go on to regenerate when Sun enters Aries on April 13th.

Sun Enters PiscesThe 12th house of the zodiac is associated with liberation and losses. Liberation can mean freedom from karma and limitations. Loss could mean loss of money, time, or even losing your limited self and ego. On a practical level, be careful to keep your expenses down and not to overspend.

The 12th house is connected with foreign countries and places of solitude like ashrams, hospitals, and jails. The 12th house also relates to travel. In a foreign country, you may feel more uncertain and have to depend more on intuition. You may experience your intuitive powers becoming more active this month.

The 12th house is also relates to sleep and with sexual activity. This month could be a good time to celebrate your sexual powers, perhaps by learning some tantric yoga. Pay attention to your dreams and see what messages come to you. If you have trouble sleeping, take it as an opportunity to get up and meditate during the quiet of the early morning hours.

Favorable Activities

  • Get in touch with your psychic powers, which are your direct connection to divine intelligence. Strengthen your intuition through doing your meditations.
  • Consider visiting a spiritual power spot, going on a retreat, or simply enjoy extra quiet time to meditate. Immerse yourself in the sea of consciousness. Know that your true identity is that of an unlimited being of light, like an angel.
  • Be careful not to overspend time or energy. You may want to make a charitable contribution and pay off some of your debts.
  • If you start feeling isolated or ungrounded, reach out to others, walk in nature, exercise, and possibly do some charitable work to help others.
  • Do some spring cleaning of your physical surroundings in preparation for the Vedic New Year on April 13, 2016. You may want to start meditating on what your goals will be for the next year and create/update a vision board with images of your manifestations. The cycle is ending and will be starting anew. Enjoy this month of Sun in Pisces and get ready for a lot of fire & action-oriented energy when Sun enters Aries next month!

Let’s take a look ahead at some upcoming power days. There are so many, as usual. The Divine is so kind to always send us opportunities to uplift our lives. Dr. Pillai has said that a second is more powerful than a decade. He also reminds us that simply paying attention and acknowledging the time shaktis – the time energies such as the day of the week, the moon phase, and the birthstar, and the planet that is ruling the current hour, goes a long way to connecting to the positive blessings they can bring us and avoiding the bad karma.

Today – Mars & Muruga Power

Sunday, March 13th is a power day for Muruga and Mars because it’s the 6th waxing moon, and the birthstar today is Krittika, one of Muruga’s own stars. Krittika is a star of truth, Pleiadian energy, and purification through burning or cutting. Pour liquids like water, milk, etc. over a vel today as you chant Om SaRaVaNaBaVa. Muruga can remove all evils and painful emotions today. Astroved suggests chanting Muruga’s Gaythri mantra 9 or more times:

Om Tat Purushaay Vidmahe

Maha Senaaya Dhimahi

Thanno Skanda Prachodayat

Friday, March 18th Mercury enters Pisces where he is debilitated

Mercury is an important planet for intelligence, technology, and business. However in Pisces, Mercury’s quick intellect can get confused or drowned in a sea of emotion. Be extra careful with contracts, electronics and communication.  Learn more.

Friday, March 18th  11th Moon

This day will be an 11th waxing moon, which is Vishnu’s power time for prosperity & healing. Being on a Friday and in the luckiest of all stars, Pushya, will make it more sublime. Pushya has to do with divine blessings, the nourishment, like milk, and enlightenment. You can honor a form of Vishnu that you connect with and also Goddess Lakshmi. Astroved will be holding a special Fire Ritual for Lakshmi in the form of Kamalathmika, representing primal female energy.

Tuesday, March 22nd – Panguni Uthiram Full Moon

This is the full moon that can give you relationship blessings. Celestial marriages took place on this day, Muruga and Devasena, Lord Rama and Sita, Lord Siva and Parvati, Lord Rathinagar and Andal. Learn more on Astroved. You may like to take up Pillai Center’s Kleem Challenge for creating loving relationships.

March 25th – Saturn goes Retrograde

Saturn will be going retrograde in Scorpio on Good Friday, March 25th. Saturn can be a touch taskmaster, but he has our highest good at heart. His energy could become a bit harsher as he turns retrograde. Astroved recommends finding out where Saturn is in your birth chart, e.g. first house, second house, etc. That area in your life needs to be givin extra energy to “clean up and grow up”. Learn more about this could affect you on Astroved.
