Dr. Pillai: “The upcoming Karthigai Deepam Full Moon is a very important Full Moon because it is the Full Moon on which the lamp is lit once a year on the mountain of Tiruvannamalai, and those who have been following me know the significance of Tiruvannamalai. Tiruvannamalai is in Tamil Nadu, near Chennai.
It is a mountain, and the mountain is Shiva himself
The mountain has existed forever in different epochs, and it assumed different forms. Once it was a mountain of gold, of fire, of just ashes, and this time it is a mountain of rock. The mountain itself is indeed Shiva, and it is the mountain where particularly during this Full Moon, hundreds of thousands of Siddhas come down from Heaven. The Earth plane is not all that bad of a place – it is a place full of power. Even Enlightened Beings, including Gods, and Goddesses, come to this Earth plane looking for a renewal of their own understanding, and experience, and once such place is Tiruvannamalai.
That time is also very significant.
This particular Festival called Deepam, which simply means the light, or lighting the lamp on the mountain, is the single most important time for spiritual people for gaining access into the Divine Domain
I also want to highlight the Krittika Star and the God who presides over that, Muruga, is on that day. Krittika is a Star sacred to Muruga.
Tiruvannamalai is often associated with Ramana Maharshi, whose spirit when it left his body, was seen by people, became a star, or a meteor, and this has been recorded.
It is also a very powerful time for spiritual aspirants.

The significance of the upcoming Krittika star Full Moon (Deepam) is, this is the time for rebirth. You can be reborn at the level of the body, mind, and soul on this day. Muruga’s Yoga is the one that gives us liberation from the body.
I am going to teach two meditations on the very sacred night of Muruga. One on the tongue, which is in the shape of the Vel, and one that Swami Ramalingam taught. That is the meditation where you move your energy from the navel chakra to the third eye.
These two meditations are meant for the transformation of the body, mind, and soul. To do these meditations and practice them is very precious for me and for everyone, for the Siddhas, for the masters, who are coming down to this Earth plane, where Muruga is doing this miracle for the sake of his devotees.
