The brilliant Sun entered Virgo yesterday on September 16th and will be moving there through October 17, 2017.
For the past month, Sun was in his own sign, Leo, which is a fiery royal zodiac of leadership. You may have experienced this as a time to promote yourself more and make strides in personal development. You may have felt some discomfort as the sun burned away something that was no longer serving you, such as old ways of thinking and behaving.
Now we have an energetic shift in the “weather” as Sun occupies Virgo. Virgo is the most practical and detail-oriented of the signs. It is ruled by Mercury, a planet of intellect, communication, business, and wealth.
This month Sun is going to be lighting up Virgo qualities like impeccability, striving for perfection through managing the practical details of life. You may be inspired to purify your diet to improve your health. Or you may find yourself cleansing, organizing, or redecorating your home, office, or wardrobe to reflect a new higher vision of yourself. You may need to dive into the details of life and manage them in order to solve problems related to health, enemies, and legal challenges.
In Sanskrit, Virgo is called Kanya. Virgo is symbolized by a virgin in a boat with grains in one hand and a light in the other. The virgin symbolizes purity and love of the Goddess energy. Grains are the st aff of life, which show us that Virgo energy includes being in touch with how to survive. Light is higher consciousness.
Virgo reminds us that deep within matter is pure Divine energy. Virgo is associated with Goddess energy, including siddhi (supernatural) powers. The Sun is going to be lighting up Goddess Consciousness in a big way. Navaratri, or the 9 Nights of the Goddess, will start on September 20th ET and continue through September 30th. The Goddesses are going to be here on the earth plane in their fiercest forms, destroying negativity and any sort of low energies. The Goddesses are going to be in battle to destroy hatred, poverty, doubt, procrastination, injustice and suffering of all kinds.

Uttara Phalguni is symbolized by the back two legs of a cot. It is a star of marriage and relationships. It can give gifts of friendship and giving and receiving help from others. It has royal qualities of generosity and kindness, independence.
Hasta is a star symbolized by a hand opened in blessings, also known as a “high 5”. It is associated with getting up right at sunrise, with productivity and with quickly gaining what you are seeking and place it in your hands. It is associated with artisans and handicrafts.
Chitra is a star of bright and beautiful things, giving you the ability to be skillful and creative. It is symbolized by a pearl or bright jewel. Chitra can give lots of energy to create and to achieve perfection with crafts.
Ancestors’ Fortnight: Mahalaya is a two-week period (September 17 – 30) when your ancestors all come to the earth plane and stay with you. These two weeks are the best time to daily tarpanam offerings to your ancestors and receive blessings from them.
