Sucharita welcomed us all on this Powertime Practice call after we had been listening to a great protection meditation by Dr. Pillai. We have been on this call-journey together for nearly five years! She laughingly says that she hasn’t had much sleep and is hoping that the Divine will take over this call! And isn’t that what we are trying to do in our real lives? We want the Divine to take over and guide us through our spiritual journey. We need the Divine to show us the energy behind Time, otherwise Time will just continue to click on by and we will be tossed from pillar to post by our Karma.
And what is Karma? Karma is thought! Where do our thoughts come from? They come from all our past lives and they come from those with whom we share our physical and spiritual DNA-our ancestors! And thoughts are manifestations! The thought and the thing are the same thing so always think positively!
Today is the Autumnal Equinox and for the next two weeks we will be experiencing the presence of our ancestors stronger than any other time of the year. This two weeks are called Mahalaya Paksha. The ancestors come close to the earth plane to receive gifts and energy from us, their descendants. These ancestral spirits need to be fed in order to pass on to higher realms so they can bless us. This offering is called tarpanam. Read here how to perform this ritual daily during daylight hours. Ritual packages are being offered by Pillai Center to facilitate this time of year. Sucharita demonstrated and explained how to perform the Tarpanam ritual at home, as well as how to perform an abhishekam or hydration of statues of Vishnu, Ganesha, Siva Lingams, and Nandi (the bull vehicle of Siva). Mantras we used today include: for Ganesha, OM Gum Ganapathaye Namaha Neer Vignum Kuru Kuru, for Nandi Bull, OM Nandi Devaya Swaha, for Saturn Siva Lingam, OM Shram Sanescharaya Namasivaya Swaha, for Siva Lingam, OM Thiru Neela Kantam Makaral Sivayanama Swaha, for Vishnu Conch, OM Namo Narayanaya Swaha, for Hanuman, OM Hreem Hanumataye Namaha.

13TH MOON – KARMA BUSTING
The 13th Moon phase is called Pradosham, a karma-removing time. 1 1/2 hours before sunset through sunset is the most powerful time to pray to Siva to dissolve your bad karma. Hydrate a sivalinga by pouring water/milk/juice over it as you chant the karma busting mantra, Thiru Neela Kantam Makaral Shivayanama. Visualize blue light in your throat. Roll and break a coconut or lime(s) to remove karma.
14 MOON – GANESHA REMOVES OBSTACLES
Ganesha is especially very powerful and present on the 4th and 14th moon phases. Call on him to remove your obstacles by chanting his mantra, Om Gum Ganapataye Namaha. Roll and break a coconut or lime(s) to remove obstacles and karma.
FULL MOON – PROSPERITY BLESSINGS
Every Full Moon is time of incredible energy for both prosperity and enlightenment. Your spiritual practices and meditations on this day/night will be very powerful. Chant Shreem Brzee for wealth.
4TH MOON – GANESHA REMOVES OBSTACLES

6TH MOON – MURUGA BRINGS VICTORY
The 6th Waxing Moon (called Shasti in Sanskrit) is the most appropriate time to win the battle against negativity and evil eyes. This is a peak day for absorbing the energies of Lord Muruga (a divine warrior/healer) and the planet Mars. Muruga specializes in solving problems such as credit card debt, legal issues, health problems, etc. Call on Muruga by chanting Om SaRaVaNaBaVa on this day and by pouring milk/juice/water over a vel.
MAHALAYA PAKSHA (ANCESTOR FORTNIGHT)
Dr. Pillai says “There is a gift-giving time from the ancestors to their descendants living on this earth plane. The ancestors who passed from the earth and living in another plane are invoked to give abundant blessings. This two-week period is very critical for you, for everyone. Even the enlightened yogis and rishis wait for this time, which comes only once a year, to get blessings from their own ancestors.” Do not miss this opportunity to honor the ancestors.
